MyRoadside ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us:
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, password
- Business Information: Company name, address, business license
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe
- Customer Data: Customer names, vehicles, service history
- Location Data: GPS coordinates for real-time tracking (drivers only), collected in the background — including when the app is closed or not in use — while the driver is on duty. See section 4.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain our Service
- Process transactions and send related information
- Send administrative notifications and updates
- Provide customer support
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
4. Location Data (including background location)
MyRoadside collects location data to enable real-time driver tracking, dispatch, and customer ETAs even when the app is closed or not in use. This applies only to accounts with the driver role. Customers and office staff are not location-tracked.
When we collect it
- Only while the driver is signed in and on duty — that is, between "Go Online" and "Go Offline".
- While on duty, collection continues in the background, with the app minimized, closed, or the screen off. On Android an ongoing notification is shown whenever background collection is active.
- Never while the driver is off duty. Going off duty stops collection immediately.
What we use it for
- Dispatching the nearest available driver to a job.
- Showing the driver's position and ETA to the dispatcher and to the customer being served.
- Recording the route of a job for the company's own service records.
Location data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties other than the service providers listed in section 5.
Driver control
- Off duty: the driver stops tracking at any time by going off duty in the app.
- Working hours: the company owner or administrator can limit tracking to chosen weekdays and hours. When those hours end, the driver is taken off duty and tracking stops automatically.
- Private zones: a driver can mark places such as home or gym where location capture pauses.
- Device settings: location permission can be revoked at any time in the operating system's settings. The app will then be unable to dispatch that driver.
Retention
Location points are stored securely and retained for 30 days, after which they are deleted.
5. Data Sharing
We may share your information with:
- Service Providers: Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS), Mapbox (maps)
- Motor Clubs: When fulfilling roadside assistance jobs
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or legal process
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission
- Encrypted database storage
- Regular security audits
- Access controls and authentication
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

9. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
